Can't I just create a complete list of tags?

bluesgeek says:
I have about 60 tags that I want to start using, so that my tag structure will mirror the structure I use with Evernote. Is there an interface for just creating a database of tags?

I selected the tags tab in settings. It tells me to make some tags. I don't see way to do that from there, which would seem like the ideal place to manage tags from. Is there another secret place that provide such a management of tags?

I apologize if I am just not seeing it.

I see what it's doing. I'm entering tags in a "Master Tag" task, so that all of my tags will be in RTM's autocomplete. But, it is breaking down the tag names so that I can't specify a complex tag name that includes word from other tags.

This is not going to help me.

For example, I may want to have:

class
class algebra
class algebra homework
class algebra quiz
class algebra scars

I may then tag a task as:

class
class algebra
class algebra scars

I'm not interested in a tag "scars".

Is this how it works, or am I again missing something? Really, I apologize for not understanding.

To be clear, the tags that would be created in RTM if I entered the above, would be:

algebra
class
homework
scars
quiz

Those aren't my tags.

Okay, my bad. I didn't read the FAQ slowly enough to comprehend that you have to add double quotes around complex tag terms.

And I see that once I create the tags, I can then manage them in settings > tags.

I'd still like to be able to create a master list of "starter" tags from an interface other than the individual task. Is that possible? Thank you.

And it renames the multi-work tag terms in double quotes as one word.

"class algebra" becomes classalgebra

I use a dot instead of a space if I want a multi-word tag. I think this works pretty well.

Maybe spaces aren't allowed because they would make the tag cloud confusing - there would be no way visually to tell if two words were one or two tags in the cloud.

Just a thought..

I've spend the last nine hours with emalminator's Tag Cloud Restructurer script:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/57544

I've solved most of my tag functionality issues (although, I want a the same full tag database drop down autocomplete in advanced search that we have in the task creation interface).

I've posted screenshots of my result with the script at the bottom of this discussion:

It's been a long day. I look forward to actually using this tomorrow!
