Smart lists can do this for you, as long as the criteria aren't ambiguous.

For example, if you already have a list of tv shows you want to watch, you can make a smart list called "+TV shows" (for "add TV shows") with this criteria:

list:"your tv show list name" AND repeat:every week

Then this list will not only show you all the weekly repeating tasks in that list, anything you add to that list will get the criteria from the smart list.

It's a workaround, but it should get you there for now.
