Seeking Tips for Managing Regular Projects in terms of hours worked

Hi, can you help? I'm a very happy newby to RTM! Wondering what's the best way to remind myself of ongoing projects which I want to work on regularly but which don't have specific due dates attached. EG, if I want to work on a project for a certain amount of hours each week where the times allocated will vary, but I want to hav a sense of ticking off the hours that I complete. So If I want to remind myself to do 5 lots of singing practice each week for between 20 min and a hour each session; or work on a book I'm writing for someone else at least 3 times each week for a total of two hours each session. How can I keep the repeated task there but be able to tick off each session as I do it? Hope thatmakes sense. Haven't worked with "Smart Lists" yet. Might they be the answer? Thanks in anticipation

Hi Catherine,
I think setting a repeated task using the "after" repeat format would be worthwhile. Using that, you could set a task to repeat "after 1 day" and set the time estimate accordingly.
If you're very diligent about tracking the actual time spent doing it, you'd want to change that before completing it, as you can't edit completed tasks.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Andrew
Can I have a task set to repeat evry second day but have its due date as never? Otherwise I end up with a whole lot of overdue tasks which is particularly overwhelming - especially when RTM is a strategy I'm trying in the hopes of feeling more on top of things, not just more overwhelmed.
Thanks again

Well, if you have a repeating task, it will by nature repeat on a due date, but you can then set it to no due date. If you're going to do that, I'd still suggest using the "after" repeating format (so it would generate the next one two days after completing the no-due-date one).
Hope this helps!
