Seeking help re best Way to Manage repeated tasks and measure progress

Hi, can you help? I'm a very happy newby to RTM! Wondering what's the best way to remind myself of ongoing projects which I want to work on regularly but which don't have specific due dates attached. EG, if I want to work on a project for a certain amount of hours each week where the times allocated will vary, but I want to hav a sense of ticking off the hours that I complete. So If I want to remind myself to do 5 lots of singing practice each week for between 20 min and a hour each session; or work on a book I'm writing for someone else at least 3 times each week for a total of two hours each session. How can I keep the repeated task there but be able to tick off each session as I do it? Hope thatmakes sense. Haven't worked with "Smart Lists" yet. Might they be the answer? Thanks in anticipation

It doesn't look easy to implement, but I would try this:
Task: writing a chapter of the book
Due: 5 days
Repeat: after 5 days
Estimate: 2 hours

This task will appear as due in five days, then, when you mark this as complete (it will re-program 5 days so It do not happen to stay 5 days long without any writing time.)

Thanks eloyesp

Yes it does seem a bit confusing but I think I understand the concept so will give it a go.

Thanks again
