Entering priority upon input

jim1th says:
Is there a way to enter the priority of a task when it is input? As it is, I have to enter the task, then go down and click on it, then select "1" to move it up in priority.

Thanks in advance!

Try typing '!' in the "Add new task" input field.

(Yes, it should be in the help pages. RTM employees?)

I was just looking for a solution to this as well. I'm fairly new at RTM, and don't like entering a task and then scrolling all the way down my page to find it and set parameters.
jim1th, Smart Add seems to take care of the problem if you can get the hang of it, but you have to add parameters that will make it show at the top of the list (like !1). If that's not the end setting for that task, then you still have to go back and reset everything. Many of my tasks don't have due dates.

jim1th,
Yes, you can add the priority via Smart Add. In this case: High priority task !1

Hope this helps!

Yep - just add !1 or !2 or !3 to the line. So:

And there it'll be, all nice and red.

Having to scroll down to find it is one I solve by not keeping tasks in my Inbox, but just using that as a kind of working space.

I'm quite used to Smart Add now and for single tasks will just use that. But say if I have several tasks and will want to set parameters on several or all of them to the same thing, then I enter them in Inbox without parameters and then set the parameters as needed on multiple tasts, before moving them all to my Tasks list.
