Tagging and editing Multiple items at once

I used to be able to edit multiple items at once by toggling "M". However since the new backend interface, i can't do that.

How do I go back to the old interface?

No need to go back. Multiedit is automatic nowadays, just check several tasks by clicking in the box to the left of the tasks. The task details box shows you the collective meta info, with [Multiple] when necessary.

In case you really want to, you can turn Smart Add off in your RTM Settings, which would give you the previous behavior.

However, as rajjan mentioned, you can manage multiple tasks sufficiently with Smart Add on (plus take advantage of the other features Smart Add provides).
