How Do I Create a Task from an Email?

(closed account) says:
Hi

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, but I just cant find it... I just added the RTM Google Gadget AND the Firefox extension, but no where can I see how to add a task to an email. In the email More Actions drop down there is "Add to Tasks" but it creates a Google Task, and not RTM task.

I am trying to use a Task Manager system instead of superstars and multiple inboxes in GMail but dont want to manually enter the email details as a task as they come in, and was hoping that the task would be linked to the email so I can click to open it to review.

Is this possiblke, if so how?

Thanks a lot

You'd do so directly from an email via the extension, but it's currently not working. You can keep tabs on our status page or our status blog.

In the meantime, you can use our email service to forward a message to your tasks.

Hi

Thanks for the reply and link... I can see now. I only just started looking into using taks so was not aware of this issue.

Turns out there are other systems not working either in Firefox 3.6 or Greasemonkey, so for the time being there is no suitable system that does what I need which is integrate email with tasks (seems an obvious link that is a weekness in all task managers I have found).

Seems the known issues are taking some time to be fixed by developers.

For info...

All I want is a task manager that can as quickly/easily as possible create a task from an email (without copying/duplicating data). Then I want to view my tasks on their own, not alongside my Gmail, because new mail in the Inbox is too distracting, and you dont get on with the tasks!

I am hoping RTM "Create Task from Email" solution will provide this solution.

RTM does do what you want, but not right now because of the Greasemonkey API issue.
