Why does the Android app always give new tasks a due date?
I use a GTD approach and, generally, do not want due dates on my tasks. So I have configured the app to create new tasks with a due date of Never.
However, when I create a new task, it gets a due date of Today. So I have to go re-edit each new task to manually select Never.
Is this a bug?
(Note: I am using the app in French.)

You can change that in the Settings, under Tasks -> Default Due Date.
Yes, but the Default Due Date is already set to Never.
I've tried switching my phone to English (which also switches the app to English), and the problem is still there: the settings say Never, but each new task says Today.
I have version 1.2.0 of the app, which seems to be the latest one.

spl68,
How are you adding a new task: by using Menu | Add Task or by using the Quick Add textbox?

Resolved!
Andrew wrote back to me, and he had it all figured out.
The problem is that my Android app would always start up with the "Today" view (Settings | General | Start Screen). Any task I created while the "Today" view was displayed inherited the date criterion for that view, which is, of course, Today.
If I deliberately set my view to the Inbox before I create a task, it is created with Never, as desired.
Thanks, Andrew!

spl68,
I'm glad that worked for you. :)
It's worthwhile to note that the Android app will start to the screen you've set in the Settings (Settings | General | Start Screen), but it will return to the last viewed screen when running in the background. Also, you will find that opening the app from a widget will open it to whatever the widget's set to show.
