Obviously the phone app is not designed by anyone who actually USES a smart phone

Love RTM and have been a user since its original release, upgraded to Pro as soon as the iPhone app was released, and now am using a Droid Eris and the RTM app for the Android.
Gotta say tho - I'm pretty frustrated w/ a nice little "feature" I just discovered on the Android app - not sure if its the same on the iPhone app or not.
Short story? My battery life on my Eris was absolutely atrocious - and coincided w/ the last system update that was pushed out - oh and about the time I installed the RTM app.
Originally blamed the change on the system update, until I started seeing the cow icon appear in the notification bar regularly. A little digging in the RTM app, and I discover that the default sync setting for the app is EVERY 5 MINUTES. WTF? I'm a busy guy - and a legend in my own mind, but I sure as heck don't need to sync my to-do list every 5 minutes...
Can someone please help me understand what sense a default setting like that makes? Since turning down the sync to every 4 hours - my battery life has returned to what it was before. Funny how cutting down 12 sync trips an hour can do that.
