RTM for Gmail Firefox add-on does not work, but only on one Gmail account

roody102 says:
Hey,
I have a strange problem and have no idea, how to deal with it.

I use RTM add-on for Gmail under Firefox under WinXP. I have the newest version of the browser on both home an office PC.

Few days ago the RTM sidebar vanished. I can see, that after refreshing Gmail page, my browser is connecting to RTM page - everything looks as usual. The strangest thing is, that RTM sidebar works on every other Gmail account I try, except my default.

I've tried turning off Labs, Adblock, but even with everything turned on RTM works with other accounts, so it's not the source of the problem.

The most strange thing is that the same happens in my Office, on a different computer - add-on works with every other account, but my default.

Can anyone explain it to me?

Also I've been looking for my version of Gmail code, but I don't see the "Tasks" in my Gmail Settings - where do I check my version than?

Me too, but I'm using Mac version 10.5.7, and another add-on seems to be affected as well.

Same as you, it's just in one Gmail account, not both.

Help appreciated.

roody102, if you don't see the Tasks tab in your Gmail Settings on that one account (but you do on the others), then it's likely that you're running an unsupported Gmail version on that account.

annelmarler, can you see the Gmail version in the account where it's not working?

It's seems now, that You are right, but I am pretty sure, that I couldn't see "Tasks" tab on any of my accounts. Now it's exactly like You said - it looks, like my default account is not supported. I hope, it will be soon.

If you're missing the Tasks tab in your Gmail Settings, could you please type/paste the following in your address bar when using Gmail:

javascript:alert(GLOBALS[2])

That should return a number telling us what your Gmail version is, which we can check against our status page.

My gmail account that IS working is version 14155931.
My account that IS NOT working is version 14295598.

I just checked my gmail and, lo and behold, my tasks have re-appeared! I thought, "Great, they've found a way to fix it!" So I clicked on Settings and looked at Tasks to see the version number. Turns out it is reporting Gmail version 14155931 today! Hope it sticks!! :-)

I'm having this same problem -- just disappeared today. I ran the Javascript query and my Gmail version is 14347794.

It seems I might just have to give it time like tyee77, but any concrete suggestions would be appreciated.

It's looking like Google has rolled out version "14347794" to many Gmail accounts; we need to update our extension to support this version of Gmail.

Unfortunately, we're yet to be able to access this version of Gmail from any of our test accounts (and we have a lot of them!). Without access to this particular version, we can't develop our fix. :(

We're waiting for Gmail to roll out this version to everybody, and as soon as that happens we'll work to support this Gmail version as quickly as possible.

We'll post any updates on our Gmail status page.

Thanks for your patience, everyone!

We've at last been able to access this and determine what's going wrong -- unfortunately it's an issue with the Gmail/Greasemonkey API that stops the add-on from loading.

The issue has been introduced with the latest version of Gmail's code; we've reported the issue to Google, and they're looking into it.

Unfortunately we rely on this API to be able to load Remember The Milk in Gmail, and without it the add-on doesn't work. :(

I've posted an update on the status blog and will update that post (and this topic) as soon as we have any news.

Fingers crossed that Google will fix this soon!
