firefox 3.6, google gears not working, RTM offline solution?

In firefox 3.6 RC1, google gears is not working. I can't see what Google is planning to do about that. Apparently almost identical functionality is included in HTML 5 support. Will RTM be supported firefox 3.6 with offline functionality?

Right. I hope as well. But I doubt. All evidence points to the end of Gears. Offline functionality is important to me.
