Gmail freezes when extension is enabled

nageeb says:
In the last 24 hours, I'm facing the following problem: whenever I have the extension enabled, Gmail freezes. If I click on a message in the folder on screen (Inbox, Sent Mail, All Mail), it opens. But if I click on another folder or label, it freezes. Gmail works fine when I disable the extension. It was working fine until yesterday evening on my laptop and then it stopped working. On my desktop computer in the office, it worked fine until this morning. Then it stopped working in the last hour.

More than likely, Google may have rolled out a new version of Gmail with different code, which will affect the extension's ability to operate. These rollouts are per account, and sometimes they release the new code to a small number of Gmail users first, before rolling it out to everyone, so it sounds as though your account may be one of the first affected by the change.

We've set up a status page to keep track of all the different versions of Gmail's code (and whether or not we're supporting them yet).

If you encounter issues, please check this page to find out if your Gmail version is supported, and let us know if it's not supported yet.

FYI...latest Chrome beta build breaks Gmail Search functionality.

Chrome 4.0.249.64 (35722) beta does not work with RTM Extension. Breaks Gmail Search function for sure. Disabling RTM Extension fixes everything.

I'm having the same problem. Gmail version 14155931 as well. I'll have to disable the extension. Do the extensions still update if they're disabled in Chrome? Also, it'd be good to find a way of getting notified when our version of Gmail is supported so we can switch the plugin back on.

Similar observation to datacarver's ... with 14155931 the RTM extension breaks gmail search on Firefox as well. I've disabled the extension for now.

I started having the same problem yesterday, and have had to disable the RTM add-on for now. Using FF 3.5.7 on Mac OS X. I can't tell you the Gmail version number as I seem to have no "Tasks" tab in Gmail settings, and there is no "Tasks" option in Labs!

As I mentioned, our status page is the best place to check what's happening if you experience any problems. For those who couldn't see Tasks in their Gmail Settings, that's a likely indicator that you're experiencing a similar problem (as the browser extension is what adds this tab).

Also: 14155931 is now supported. :)

I turned the extension back on this morning and it is working fine. My gmail version didn't change so I assume RTM fixed the issue.

I've re-enabled the RTM plugin this morning, and all links are working again in Gmail. Thanks, RTM!
