Can't get out of offline mode and can't see any of my lists.

I am running XP (but the problem is still there on my laptop running Vista), and it doesn't matter what browser I use (Firefox 3.5.6 or Chrome), and whether I try to access this from work or home, but I immediately get thrown to the Login page, and then once I try to login, I can't get out of offline mode.
I have enabled cookies, and that doesn't seem to be the problem, but this is weeks now, and I can't get to my list of tasks. Not a good situation.

londen, thanks for writing in; we certainly want you to be able to get to your tasks!

Gears may cause problems like you're seeing. Chrome comes with it installed, and it sounds like you may have installed it for Firefox too. Can you try disabling it? You can do so on the Tools menu under Gears Settings; simply set "http://www.rememberthemilk.com" to "Denied". You may need to reload the RTM site after this to make the change.

If the site works with Gears disabled, we recommend keeping it disabled to prevent loss of data or problems like you're seeing.

hey londen

i experienced a similar problem this morning. RTM working just fine on my mac at home but could not get RTM to sync or go online on my work PC running XP with Chrome. followed the instructions andrewski posted (thanks!), restarted the browser then went back and allowed Gears. seems to have resolved the issue for me--good luck

must have spent the best part of two hours, clearing out and reinstalling chrome and extensions and it returned! Yay for well, um me I guess.
