Sync from (Gears-enabled) Chrome didn't really work. Result: 25 duplicates of each task

So yesterday I moved my tasks for the next few weeks over to RTM. After doing that, my Google Gears enabled Chrome RTM window was for some reason 'offline', and when I tried to sync it a few times I only got errors. This morning I was surprised to see 25 duplicates of almost each of the tasks in RTM. I now disabled Gears form RTM, and hope that that solves it. (if that was the culprit, maybe it's good Google is switching from Gears to HTML5 local storage ;-)
However, I was planning to install the RTM app on my iphone. Hopefully that sync will not botch up my task list again...

It seems there may indeed be some troubles with newer Gears versions, as reported on the status blog:
