Best practices?

Hi all,
I'm looking at RTM again (did take a peek about 18 months ago) as I want to stay more on top of tasks.
However, I wanted to get a feel for the best way to set up RTM for my needs; as I can see their are lists, tags, groups etc !
Basically I need the following:
1) a list of tasks for myself (date driven, perhaps linked to project/client)
2) perhaps a list of tasks by project as well - some of these tasks will actually be things I want the client to do (so it's more of a checklist). These tasks would be date driven as well.
3) perhaps (but not essential) tasks for staff who also use RTM
I use my Blackberry a lot as well so interacting with RTM via Twitter, Email or the BB app will be essential.
Any pointers from experience users would be gratefully received.

Hi Joel,
MilkSync would be a good basis for interacting with your tasks on your BlackBerry; email and Twitter would be good means to add tasks to RTM if you don't need to manage/edit your tasks from your BlackBerry.
Organizing your tasks by lists and/or tags would work well, depending on your preference. If you decide to use MilkSync, know that the BlackBerry Tasks Category syncs to RTM's list, so you'd probably want your tasks' organization to be mainly list-based.
Other users may have some other pointers; let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Andrew,
thanks for this.
Thanks for the comments re how MilkSync works.
As a web person I tend to work on a variety of different projects - and projects come and go. Is it best to organise project vias list? Or via tags?
I'm not too bothered about being able to see all tasks on the Blackberry to be honest - be able to submit new tasks it probably more important.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Hi Joel,
Organizing your projects would probably be best by lists if you intend to view them in your BlackBerry Tasks; however, if you intend to view them on the mobile site, website, or otherwise, I'd probably suggest using tags (and perhaps using lists to organize work versus personal, phone calls versus desk work, etc.). Of course, your mileage may vary; RTM is very flexible, which makes prescriptive advice a bit more nuanced. ;)
As far as submitting new tasks though, using email/Twitter would probably be easiest, as you can leverage the Smart Add syntax, which would probably be the most efficient way to add tasks.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your thoughts Andrew,
I'm going to have a bash and see where I get to.
Creating lists per project just "feels wrong" at the moment. I really like the flexibility of tags.
I'm sure I'll change my mind a 1,000 times but I'm getting there
Thanks again for your help - have upgraded to Pro so I can, atleast, get the milksync working
