Using Smart Add to create already-completed Tasks

spamboy says:
I wanted to know if Smart Add could be used to create a new Task that is already marked as Completed. This is useful to me as follows:

I sometimes complete a task before I have the ability to write it down, but I want to have a record of doing so which I can later recall for use in status reporting at work, etc. Therefore, it would be useful to have the power to Smart Add a task so I can record its completion immediately.

Currently, I have to create the task, then I have to select and complete it.

No, Smart Add doesn't offer the ability to add a completed task; you'll still need to add them and then complete them.

Is this being considered as a feature? And if not, where can I suggest it?

If you add a new task, and include either a tag or some common marker text (e.g., TAC for Task Already Completed), you can filter these TAC tasks out of other smartlists so they don't clutter things up in your active lists. Then when you are on the website, you can gather and mark the TAC tasks complete in bulk. Maybe that would smooth your workflow?

@ranbarton That's a good workaround until (if) my request is implemented.

FYI -- the main need for being able to create an already-completed task is to get the timestamp -- if I don't get around to checking my TAC Smart List soon enough, I lose the context of when the task was actually completed.
