Woo Hoo! (is that how you spell it?)

Now my tasks fit comfortably next to my cal widget and I am happy.
Great feature and extra points for being able to pick what is displayed.

Now, one suggestion.
Can I please have an option to turn off the day of week / date display at the top of the widget. If it were all i was looking at it would be very useful. But since I have it next to my Cal widget it's a bit redundant. Then I would be able to see even more tasks in my 2x2 widget.

This is great. I went from running 0 RTM widgets, to running 2 RTM widgets immediately.

First of all, thank you for the update.

However, I would be even more happy if there are other sizes like 4x2 it will be even better. Actually is it possible to have all the ranges from 1x2, 2x2(done), 3x2, 4x2 til 4x4 so people can just choose whatever the size they want. For me, I like symmetry so I would only choose even numbers but 2x2 is kind of small to me...so if there will be a 4x2 it will be closer to perfect...

Anyway, still appreciate for more user-friendly work.

I like the widget but it would be really cool if there was an option to make it only display tasks that need to be done in the current location. The widget would be a great place to show those tasks for people who don't like having the location Alert pop up in their notification bar, but still want to see what needs to be done.

@chudified: easy. Create a smart list with locatedWithin:"500 m" or whatever tolerance you want on the location. Save it as "Local" or something. Then use that smart list to feed the widget.

On the HTC Hero the widget doesn't reload if there is a restart of the Home environment. I think this is a known difference where the HTC Sense UI sends a different signal than you were expected.

Is there a better place to report bugs like this?

sdague, no, this is sufficient. I've added that to our list to investigate.

I didn't see a way to have the widget use "tags" as the list...

@sdague It's not anything that RTM should be concerned about, it is an HTC Sense bug that should be fixed in the next release. It affects other applications as well, especially ones that you update.

verxion, you would need to create a Smart List that searches for that tag; you could then use the Smart List as your widget.

First off, I'd like to say that the RTM widget is fantastic. I don't know how I got by without it!
I'd also like to second the comment by lazinase - I'd love a 4x size options because I also like the symmetry but 2x2 is too small. A 4x3 would be perfect for me because then I can have other time management apps underneath. Having said that, I was talking about this with a guy at work and he'd like a 4x1 which just shows the first task from the top of the today list.
Don't know if these are possible, but it would be great if they were. Other than that, it's awesome!

Attempting to add the widget to my Droid. I get a Widget Settings screen, with nothing on it, the Save button is greyed out, and only the Cancel button is active. So, all I can do is Cancel out, which prevents the widget from being added. This is no help.

ms960, sounds like the screen isn't loading properly for some reason; you should see a combo box that lets you select what you want to show in the widget.

Could you try restarting your phone, or removing and reinstalling the app, to see if this corrects that problem?

I don't use it because the sizes don't make sense for how I have my home screens setup. 4 by anything would work well - 4x2 and 4x3 would be best.

I agree! I would love to see a Widget with a 4x?.....I currently devote a screen to my calendar and am looking for a widget to do the same. Please give us a few more options with the widget size.

How about the ability to show "nearby" list in the widget?

I don't really want to keep getting alerts when I have tasks I can do nearby. It would suit me more to have the widget show my nearby tasks, so I can just see at a glance when I look at the phone.

Would this be possible? It seems, with the locations settings in the app that all the required functionality is there.

I'd love a whole crate of milk (4x6) so I can have a page dedicated to mile but I I'd also like 1x4 so I can have this on my home screen to remind of whats up next

+1 for a suite of 4x? widgets

It would also be fantastic if you could skin or even just change the background so it could match other home page widgets.

You can add a widget for a Smart List that utilizes the locatedWithin: search operator to show only nearby tasks. Then you could turn off location alerts also.

Another +1 for the 4x widget set. I would love to see 4x3 and 4x2 available, with 4x3 being the one more likely to get used if I could only pick one.

Just wondering if the 4x? widget is in the development plans? I found a way to get the full screen (at least on Droid), but not sure that the glitch will continue to work. For those who would like to have a full screen widget now. Here is what you can do, but first you will need open home.

If open home is installed select an empty screen. Turn phone into landscape mode and slide open keyboard. Place the 3x3 Widget on the screen. When you close keyboard and turn phone...the widget will fill the screen.

I noticed the same behaviour as Jeff. I was actually quite pleased until I realised that the widget still limits the number of rows it shows based on the size it would expect from a 3x3 not a 4x4 widget.

I would like to see a 4x X widget, also a widget that allows quick adding of tasks.

Please add more widget sizes!

I have noticed that you can browse the tasks within the widget with the trackball, but you just can't click on them!

Is that the normal behaviour?

Yes, that's normal; you can scan the list from there and tap the widget to open the app to edit them.

Nice apparently. Would pay for pro if there was 4x3, 4x2, etc.

I would love to be able to put a semi-transparent RTM widget with events/deadlines on my main homescreen with my clock&weather main apps. Right now I have a black-on-transparent 4x1 calendar widget that pulls the google calendar that is pulling my RTM iCalendar feed.

But, Google Calendar's sync sucks, changes I make in RTM don't appear for ages, and this is a problem. Since Google's user support consists of ignoring forums in the vast bitbucket void, I figure I may have more luck here.

Any chance we could have a skinnable or transparent 4x1 version with small borders (no list name at top), as one might use for an "upcoming due" on home? Thanks!

One thing I'd like would be a 1x1 shortcut for a certain (smart)list. I don't need to see all the time what I have to buy at the supermarket but it would be usefull to be able to access it quickly...

I got my Droid Eris after the widget upgrade. I have an HTC Scene that is now devoted entirely to my lists, with several of the little widgets tuned to smartlists on some pages, and big widgets for lists like Today on others. When I am in planning mode, I switch to my RTM scene and list away.
I experimented around with other to do list apps for Droid, and may I just say that in this category as well, rtm is THE app for list-makers - the best interface, features, customization capabilities. Awesome work, ya'll!

I'm sure this is a silly question, but is there a way to open the full RTM app (with the Lists page, Tags page, Locations page etc) by tapping on the widget? I have the widget on a specific list. When I tap on it I only get that list, and I have to close it and open RTM separately to get the other pages. This means I need the RTM shortcut as well as the widget, which seems unnecessary... Am I doing something wrong here?

Once you're viewing the list after tapping on the widget, you can get elsewhere in the app by going to Menu | Views. This is the same as entering the app via the icon (though you may be used to swiping to get around the views).

I used RTM before 'going android' but once the 3x2 widget is released it will have ticked every possible box (apologies for the pun!)

Me again (!) I'm trying to create a smartlist to show current location items AND non-specific ones but I can't get it to work - anyone know how to get empty locations included?
