tag symbol # not working in smart add

When inputting the # and selecting a tag form the drop down box it does not show in the task when it is entered into the list.

Can you describe your steps more specifically? Are you using the mouse or keyboard? Do you see the tag in the Add box after selecting it? What's the full syntax for the task you're trying to add?
