Can I make a task last a week or several days?

I need a task to be for a week. Is there a way to do this and also repeat. For example, I want a task to be for Oct. 19-23 and repeat each 4th Monday. Please help and sorry if this has already been addressed many times; I tried searching before posting.

If you mean you want a task to appear on your today list a week (or whatever) before it's due so you can start working on it, this is an oft requested feature not currently extant in RTM. But there is a workaround. Go to this thread: http://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/tips/590/
Scroll down a ways and you'll see a post by Rajjan (not the first one) with a description of how to simulate task duration with a system of tags. Some of us call it the "zzz" system (you'll see why when you look at it). Takes a few mintues to set up, and it's a bit kludgy, but mostly, it works.
Many of us would like to see a start date field so that we could tell RTM how many days before the due date we want a task to appear on our today list.

There's no way to directly change the duration of a task. You can, however, change the time estimate if that'd work for you. Perhaps you could use sleeper tags to achieve what you want?
As for repeating it, you can certainly set it to repeat "every 4th Monday".
Hope this helps!
