Tags and Lists

I'm hoping this isn't a stupid question ...
Is there a way to ensure that all tasks added to a particular list all get a "default" tag?
I have a number of "Work" lists, different lists for different projects i work on. for example "wk_Subversion", "wk_WebSphere", "wk_JBoss".
I want to have a Smart List that will show me all my work tasks, so I was hoping that I'd be able to set up the lists in some way that would automatically add the "work" tag to each task. Then I'd be able to have a smart list showing tasks tagged with "work". Otherwise it seems like the only thing can do is add a load of lists in to my search criteria for the smart list, which doesn't feel so elegant to me.
Am I missing someting obvious here?

Not a stupid question, I'm interested in the same thing.
If you want newly created task to inherit the smart list criteria from the smart list where you created it, the smart list criteria have to be un-ambiguous. In this case, that means having a smart list tag:Work. However, the task will be added to your default regular list, not one of the wk_xxx lists. Adding a task when viewing a regular list will not set any meta info, like tags.
Another way to arrange this would be to have only one regular work list and add wk_xxx as tags instead.

If you add tasks to the Smart List itself, they will inherit the properties of the Smart List.
In your case, david.howes, you may want your Smart List to be list:wk_Subversion tag:work or whatnot, to make sure that tasks added would inherit both properties at once.
Hope this helps!

Thanks guys - I've reorganised things and now have one" Work" list which I sub-divide with tags for the individual projects. Works nicely, especially as my andriod device lets me post new tasks to a Smart List.
Only downer is that the Quick Add bookmarklet only appears to let you post tasks to "actual" lists, rather than smart lists

Take a look at this method for a more flexible bookmarklet.
