How to configure a task in the new interface

dfm says:
It sure seems likely there's a thread in this forum on this already, but I've looked and can't find it. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

The interface for adding tasks has changed. In the past when I typed 't' and the name of a task, it would be added, and checked, so I could go and set its due date, tags, whatever.

With the new interface, with the dedicated task entry box up at the top, after I type 't' and the name of the task, it is added, but *not* checked, and typically buried somewhere down the list of tasks. I now have to go hunt for it and check it by hand before I can set its due date, tags, etc.

Needless to say, setting these additional properties of a task after adding the task is an exceedingly common activity.

I'm guessing there's a better way to do it in the new interface. What is it?

Thanks!

Ah, I've managed to answer my own question. This new interface is called "smart add" and is described in the blog. That blog entry explains all, in detail, and it looks pretty cool and a decided improvement.

Curiously, though, if you type "smart add" in the search box for this forum you come up empty handed. You just get told about smart lists, which are completely unrelated.

Hm, I don't have that problem searching the forum. (No quotes though.)

I'm glad you figured out Smart Add; post back if you have any questions!

The search function in these forums is often flustered. I find using google to search them to be much more productive, via site:www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/
