Are you referring to the Firefox extension or the RTM gadget?
If the former, you'd need to install it on each computer where you want to use it.

Andrewski--thanks for answering--the RTM gadget--
ayongtom says:
Well, Andrewski, now that I think about it, i don't know.
I got a "Mytouch" android phone, installed RTM and then the program that links the phone with gmail; an RTM pane went on the left of my gmail page (firefox) on my desktop PC and it syncs well with the phone. When I go to my laptop (firefox), Im offered a box to sign in to RTM, fine. At work (IE) there's no RTM pane...
Also--when I 'm in gmail and want to add a task, gmail has all the boxes, but no notes. for notes. i have to go to RTM. How do I access RTM from the gmail pane?
thanx for any help

The Gmail Labs gadgets will be available on any computer, though only on a supporting browser (including IE 7+). Maybe that's why it's not there at work?
As for the notes, the gadget is intentionally light (it's a small bit of screen real estate we have to play with) so it doesn't have functionality for adding notes directly, but allows the ability to link to the task so you can access it on the website.

When viewing a task, you'll see "more details" and when editing you'll see "view" in the lower right.
Clicking on either will open the task on the website.

thanx again!
view brings me to more details. now I see that details opens RTM--sometimes in another tab, sometimes RTM replaces gmail.
it may be that, when i would hit details and see nothing that it was opening in another tab and i didn't notice it...now you've alerted me.
is there a pattern to when it opens a new tab or replaces gmail?

Hm, it should always open in a new tab. I'm not sure why that would be.
Does this happen on your laptop or at work? Or both?
