Anyone using Fluid for RTM?

mojobaer says:
I'm trying to use RTM with Fluid.

It creates the SSB just fine. But when I push any RTM button (like logging on), it automatically takes me back to Safari, where it opens a new tab with a logged in RTM.

Anyone else have this problem? I'd *so* love to have a desktop RTM app in OS X.

I use Fluid for RTM (and many other web apps as well). The behavior you mention is addressable via preferences.

Under Preferences / Advanced Preferences there are radio buttons that determine what links are opened in the current Fluid browser and what links are sent to the default browser (i.e. Safari).

If you select "Allow browsing to any URL" then the Fluid browser behaves like just another browser. Every new link will open in a new tab (or the same tab) in Fluid.

What is more powerful is to have RTM links open in the fluid app but have everything else go to Safari. In that case, select the second button that says "Allow browsing to URLs matching these patters:"

Then, hit the + button at the bottom of the dialog box and add this line:
*rememberthemilk.com/*
(Note that some variation of this line might already be there)

Bottom line is that you can control what links open in Fluid and what links are passed to the default browser.

I, too, had this problem originally, and hhollick's suggestion worked perfectly for me (I found it elsewhere a while ago). My Advanced Preferences line is just a little bit different, though:

*rememberthemilk.com* (without the slash that hhollick uses)

Experiment! I think Fluid is a fabulous way to keep my RTM page open all the time without losing it in my browser windows.

I like fluid. I was looking for something like this for a while. After solving link problem discussed above I use it frequently. But I have still an annoying problem:

Safari remembers my login and password. I have only to push login button. In Fluid I have to key in both. On each program start and sometimes after session time out. I checked the option "remain loged in" on login screen. But without any changes. Cookies are activated.

Any ideas?

I have the frequent prompting for login issue as well. I'm using the iGoogle RTM service as a menu SSB.
