Found two problems with tags

I have 2 serious problems with tags.
1) Can't really delete them. I accidentally created two tags, plan and vacation, when I wanted to create one, plan_vacation. I deleted the two, and they're gone from my tag list, but they still appear if I start typing plan or vacation. So they still exist internally somehow. RTM need to fix this!
2) There's no way to create a tag that's the start of an existing tag. I have a tag "carol_w", a coworker, and I tried to create one called "car", but "carol_w" keeps popping up whenever I try to create "car". Won't let me enter just "car". I guess I'll create one called "auto" instead, but this is not satisfactory.

1. Hmm, have you tried merging the two tags into the tag you want? Go to Settings -> Tags, then select both "plan" and "vacation," go to More Actions, select "merge tags" then type in what you want the new tag to be... "plan_vacation."
This will change all tags that were either "plan" or "vacation" to "plan_vacation."
2. Hm, not sure about this, haven't run into the problem yet. BUT, you COULD name it "auto" then go into Settings and rename it from there. You shouldn't have any auto-pop ups in there.
I think I have had a problem like you describe once upon a time, and remember it being annoying. Hopefully it's something @emily and @andrewski and other RTM'ers are aware of.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply.
1. Merging - I went in today to try your suggestion, and the old tags, "plan" and "Vacation" are gone. So RTM removed them from the list right away, but they persisted for a while somewhere else. Maybe rebooting cleared them or just time. Who knows, but they're gone. Still, something the developers might want to look at.
2. Your idea of creating "auto", then editing it worked great. Problem solved. But again, something for the developers to consider. Shouldn't have to do work arounds like that.
Thanks again!

First of all, rajjan is right: the old tags will stick around to allow you the ability to undo (which is cleared when you update the page or close the browser).
As for problem #2 (creating a tag that's part of another), simply end the tag with a comma, e.g. type "car," and press Enter; the comma signifies the end of the tag. Easier than the above. :)
That said, this is still kind of an awkward workaround; I've added this to our list to address.
