Is there a way to see what date I created a task?

ib4533 says:
I'm wanting to know if RTM records the date you create a task, because I need to be able to reference that...in addition to the task's due date.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It does, and it shows up when searching with a Completed* operator, i.e. completed, completedWithin, completedBefore, or completedAfter. Examples of each are on the advanced search help page.

If you want to force the completed date to show, say in a smart list, you can add one of those operators to your search in such a way that it wouldn't affect your results, e.g. completedBefore:tomorrow. :)

Thanks for the help! However, I think I didn't word my question correctly. I actually want to know how to make RTM tell me when I ADDED a task. Do you know how to do that?

Thanks again.

You could use addedBefore:tomorrow to get the smart list to show the create date. This search is always true so it won't affect the resulting list of tasks.

Well, when it's possible to use yesterday or to somehow check what day of the week it is today, then some clever smart lists will be possible (weekend to-do-lists for example that work on Friday+Saturday+Sunday).

New search operators I would like to see in RTM:
dayToday (possible values 1-7)
dateToday (possible values 1-31)
monthToday (possible values 1-12)

Preferrably also in combination with yesterday and tomorrow as in dayTomorrow or monthYesterday.

Also, dueDay, dueDate and dueMonth would be nice, same possible values as above ;-)

Awesome tips! Thanks a million, rajjan. Now, is there any way to make the ADDED DATE appear permanently along with the due date?

If you use the tip above you will always see the added date in the smart list where you included this. In regular lists you will not see it no matter what - another reason for using smart lists to manage your tasks.
