What is actually pushed? Push-Notifications not working?

tim.adler says:
Hey everybody,

I'm wondering - what is actually pushed to my iPhone as a reminder? I'm asking because I don't get any push-notifications at all from RTM, and am using the thing quite heavy!

So my question is: Which task are actually pushed? What do I have to set the tasks to, in order to get them pushed?

Thx in advance?

Tim,

Are you using due dates with times for your tasks? My understanding of the push notifications is that they require a couple of things:

1) times in due dates
2) reminders turned on
3) iPhone selected in the reminders settings page

Have you tried soft resetting your iPhone since adding the application?

Hope this helps,

Hey Leah,

thanks for the heads-up. I certainly use due-dates for my task, but had reminders turned off all the time. I activated them just now.

I think this might be the reason, since my iPhone was already showing up in the settings. I'll see if something gets pushes tomorrow :)

I've checked it: I have several task with due-dates set to today. I've set the reminder-setting to "If task has due date..." - "Remind me, when task is due."

I'd expect that I get push-notifications for when the day that the tasks are due (like around midnight). But I still don't get any notifications.

What is there to do? What are the conditions for tasks being pushed as a notification?!

You have to have a due time set (e.g. "Eat lunch" due "today at noon"). Then you'll get reminded if you have either checkbox checked under "If the task has a due time, remind me..." in your Reminders Settings.

Also, the badge count for RTM is updated via a push notification, e.g. if you complete your tasks or add some new ones on the website or another service, the badge count will reflect the current number without having to open the app.

Tim,

I think that you have to have a time entered for the specific task to get a push notification.
