Reminders come every day via Sprint SMS

My issue is I do not have tasks due every day, at least that I track in RTM. Is there a way to only get the SMS when a task is actually due?

You can set this in the reminders tab of the settings page. When in the reminders tab you can choose when you would like notification and by which method.

Sorry, not my question. I am asking how to prevent receiving reminders when I do NOT have tasks due. I rcurrently receive SMS from RTM that have no tasks

There are currently two reminder options on your Settings page: to receive reminders on the day a task is due (or X days prior), "Send me a daily reminder"; and to receive reminders at the time a task is due (or X minutes/hours prior), "If the task has a due time, remind me".
It sounds like you might want to disable the first one, but I'm not sure that's what you're describing. Let me know whether that helps!
