Add task from email
(closed account) says:
I've updated the plugin on my Gmail to 1.0.4.
Gmail (through Google Apps) is at 11588619 and marked unsupported.
I can't add a task from email through any of the normal methods - starring (which I don't want anyway), labels (which I could but aren't inclined to) or through the More actions menu (where the add task option doesn't appear).
Is this a known or new? I'm keen to get it fixed.

I cannot move any mail containing an event I want to get a reminder for to RTM too.
The plugin should either accept dropping an email on it or emails to be moved by more options menu.
Anything else does not support INBOX ZERO or speeding up email processing.
Best regards
Thomas

When your Gmail version is unsupported, none of those methods will work. (11588619 is now supported though. :)
For using the More Actions menu, you need to have a message open, and you choose More Actions | Create task.
Another method (good especially for filters) is to forward a message to your RTM address (found in your Settings), where a task will be created for each message forwarded.
Thomas, I'm also a big proponent of Inbox Zero, and for myself, I find that starring is the fastest way for me to get there. Your mileage may vary, of course. :)
Hope this helps!

Add to task in the more actions menu created a task in google tasks and not RTM. The Task status on my gmail settings says not supported.

Will any of these methods work for Gmail in Apps version? For me it does not work, but perhaps I do something wrong.

"Add to Tasks" will add to Gmail's Tasks, yes; "Create task" will create a task in the RTM sidebar.
Since you're Gmail says "not supported", you won't see the option to "Create task". Which Gmail version are you using now? There was a new one released this week for which we don't yet have a fix in place.

I don't have the option to 'Create Task' when using the Firefox plug-in, I can only 'Add to Tasks'. Also, I can't seem to get emails in to RTM with labelling.
Any ideas? Gmail version "12058986"

Don't worry, I've sorted it - was using English (UK) and not English (US)... I really should RTFM before moaning.
