Changed end date for past due tasks - all task descriptions changed!

You have been bitten by the multiedit feature, which is a bug waiting to happen.

You may be able to have your tasks fixed if you email RTM and ask nicely.

Thank you for your quick reply ranbarton ! You hit the problem exactly! I thought I was going nuts. This is definitely an issue, especially for novice users like myself. I am going to have to look for another tool, as I had planned to use RTM for my volunteer staff as a central task component. This issue alone will prevent that, unfortunately.
Why do you believe the RTM team is not addressing this fundamental issue? It seems from reading other posts that they really do not have a plan.
