Some Tasks Cannot be Edited in Gmail

I've noticed that some tasks can be edited in the Gmail extension, while others can't. Is this normal behavior? For example, mousing-over a task so the detail box displays and then changing the due date should update the task, but generally, this or any other change I'm making is not working. I'm using the latest version of Gmail by the way.
