This question has two parts.

First off, I really want to change my user name. I've been to all of the official places and as far as I can tell RtM doesn't make it easy to do this. You can't [change your user name](http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/answers/basics/changeusername.rtm). Second, you can't [migrate your tasks](http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/contact/support/?ctx=accounts.transfertasks) once you follow their advice to create a new account if you want a new account.

But I had a brilliant idea, what if RtM allows you to export your data as a backup? Of course, [they do](http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/answers/basics/backup.rtm)! I didn't bother to check whether or not they allowed you to import data. This seems like a natural extension of a backup strategy involving. However, when I went to look for how to do just that, I couldn't find a thing.

I have seen in the forums a previous post about changing a user name with a recommendation to contact RtM. I have done this but with no response.

Questions:

1. Have I said the magick words that will get my user name changed for me?
2. Are we really backing up anything if you can't use said backup to recover?

If I'm wrong on point 2, then could someone enlighten me as to how I import the data? I assume that if I am wrong, I've found my solution because I'll be duplicating all of my tasks into my new account and then I can just delete the old account. Someone has to have done this before.
