Tasks in multiple lists

Can the same task appear in more than one list or does it have to be duplicated to put it in a separate list?
Also, is every task in some list besides all tasks. It would be nice to have the All Tasks tab include information on which list a task is assigned to.

Kathy, this is one of the main advantages of TAGS. A list is sort of like a folder. It's a logical place where you PUT stuff, and you can only put a task in a single folder.
A tag, on the other hand, is a bit of info that you can search on. What makes tags so powerful is that you can assign more than one tag to the same task. For example, the task "Finish income tax" could be assigned to the tags "Personal" and "Tax" (and perhaps "Business"). You can then find it by searching for any of those tasks.
And if you like, you can create smart folders that simply find these tags. So you can have a smart folder named "Personal" that simply represents a search for tag = "personal". That way, you can accomplish what you want, namely, having same task in multiple lists.
