Pausing repeated tasks?

(closed account) says:
Hi There,

Is it possible to pause repeated tasks for a short period? For example, we're just coming up to the Christmas Hols, so there's a whole bunch of daily tasks that I don't need to complete. As they are currently set as repeated tasks, when I return in January I will have loads that are overdue that I'll just have to delete. What I'd like is a "pause" button to tell tasks not to repeat again until I say so (or "unpause" them).

Thanks

You could change the repeat option from "every" to "after" in order for RTM to simply move incomplete instances one day forward every day. That way you will only have one instance of each repeat when you return to work.

I use the 'after' option for a task I have to test my smoke alarms.

It repeats 1 week after I last tested it. I like to test them every 7 days but if I forget for a month or go on holiday it does not mean I need to test them 4 times on the day I return home.

@archaegeek - this option should answer your query?
