enter date while creating task?

Is it possible to enter a due date while I'm creating a task? Like does typing "Call John today" automatically make it due today? Obviously it doesn't, but I'm wondering whether there's a way to do this that I don't know about.

Short answer, sadly: no.
Pardon what must seem repetitive, but when I see the same good ideas surfacing over and over, I am compelled to note the fact.
The idea of parsing the text in the data entry field has been around since RTM was wet behind the ears, and I have watched the idea resurface over and over.
