ical feeds for smart lists

I've been trying to use the ical event feeds for one of my smart lists but in vain. everytime I create the calendar in Google Calendar, I get an error saying "The calendar could not be fetched".
For a regular list, I don't have any issue.
is this a known issue? am I missing something?

For iCalendar subscription issues, I'd recommend reporting this to Google Calendar so that they're aware there's an issue with your Calendar account. You can contact them directly or via their Google Group.
Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do on our end if Google Calendar isn't updating the iCalendar subscriptions properly, sorry. :(

I don't thin it's an update issue because the error happens at subscription time, when GCal fetches the feed for the very first time.
So it seems to me like a RTM issue.
Especially if you consider that I don't this error with non-smart list feeds.
