Import List via email - create new list? (case sensitivity also)

Is it possible to create a list when using the import email address, or does it have to be assigned to an existing list?

And when composing these import list emails, I take it the cases have to match the existing list?

It needs to be an existing list (the list name isn't case sensitive though).

Thanks, that all checks out! I must have been making spelling errors in the list names previously, when I thought the import was case sensitive :-p
