No due date on emailed tasks

The task goes into RTM as an undated task with "Due: Today at 5pm" as a note to the (undated) task.
Am I doing something obviously wrong - I know you can put notes in that have to be separated by ---, but all that's in my email is the "Due: Today at 5pm"

One thing that may be worth checking is whether your email has a signature or a disclaimer at the end -- if so, after the tasks details you'll need to include '-end-' on a line by itself, and everything after this line will be ignored (otherwise there may be some problems processing the task details).
