gmail forwarding

ok, my family members are about as computer savvy as a colony of ants. Having them send an email to something as strange as words+letters@rmilk.com confuses and befuddles them. So I use the handy dany "+" operator on my gmail account and set up a filter to automatically forward all email sent to that account to my rmilk.com account and nothing happens when I test it out. I think gmail does something funny with the email but I don't know. Has anyone else tried this before? this would really be helpful!

Hi aargre,
have a look at the end of this thread, it describes a similar problem: http://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/tips/3450/
Seems as if filtering in GMail does not work for mails that you send to yourself (however, I can't find anything about this in GMail help...?)
