I'm having the same problem - star won't create a task either. I've tried clearing the cache, reinstalling, and reloading, to no effect.

This issue should now be fixed -- Google did indeed change their code again, so we had to update this feature to use the new Gmail code. (You may need to clear your cache and restart your browser if reloading Gmail doesn't fix it.) Please let us know if you continue to experience problems. Thanks! :)
