iPhone and search for completed items
guru46 says:
I am having problems searching for completed items on the iPhone version of RTM. When I use the command "status:completed" in the search block, I get "no tasks" even though there are completed tasks. If I use the straight web version, the search finds the completed tasks. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong, or is there a problem with the iPhone version? Thanks for your help

I think the iPhone version automatically ignores completed tasks, which affects not only searches but also Smart Lists that include the status:completed condition.
It'd be nice to be able to make Smart Lists for completed tasks.

Both the mobile and iPhone versions don't include completed tasks (as it's not possible to edit completed tasks in RTM). If it would be useful, we can look at supporting the completed searches, but the task details would be read-only.

Emily...having the ability to search completed tasks (I agree, it is not useful (or desired) to edit them, is EXTREMELY important. For example, if I paid a bill at a certain time and I needed to reference the transaction number (which I would put in the notes section of the task as I completed it) or other vital information, that would be VERY useful. It is a feature I use in Outlook/Entourage tasks all the time. It seems foolish that the iPhone version would not have this when the "regular" online version does. Having the task details as read only would be great...thank you for your consideration!

I agree. Having a way to search for completed tasks -- or having a separate view that includes them -- is critical. Any todo or task system without that capacity is practically useless.
