Question about iCal implementation on Google Calendar

lwallach says:
It seems that when I mark a task complete, it still remains as an entry in my Google Calendar. Is this what is supposed to happen? I tried reloading and logging out and back into GCal, but this didn't change it. I was expecting it to go from GCal. If this isn't the functionality, I wonder if this can be done or is there some technical reason it can't? I mean optimally of course it would be great to see the the same entry but with a crossmark over it or grayed out, or something like that, but I'm pretty sure that's not doable given these aren't available within the normal GCal interface... But just having it go away would be fine too. Is that possible? Do I just need to wait for GCal to "catch up" somehow? Thanks!

Interesting. Now that I'm home I just checked Google Calendar and it's now no longer showing those completed tasks, so I guess it is a matter of time? Anyone have any experience with this?

Google Calendar automatically refreshes this periodically (I think it used to be around every 3hrs or so, but I'm not sure if they've changed this). Any completed tasks or other changes will be reflected in Google Calendar after the refresh. Hope this helps!

Thanks Emily. Wow, 3 hours, huh? That seems long, but oh well!
