Automatically remove task from inbox when assigned to a smart task

Yes, this is expected: a Smart List is basically a "saved search" that shows your tasks no matter where they reside. Each task resides in a list, but can be shown in a variety of Smart Lists and other views.
An example of this is a task due today: it will show in its list as well as in the Today view.
To work around this, you can use another Smart List. (Yes, it can end up that it's Smart Lists all the way down. 😅) Here's an example using a Smart List named "Show These":
list:Inbox AND NOT list:"Show These"
This would show tasks from your Inbox but only the ones not already shown in the Smart List "Show These". I hope this helps! 💙
