checked tasks and adding new tasks

If I have a task checked, so I can manage the task and notes and then I add a new task, the new task and previous task a both checked. Shouldn't the current task be automatically unchecked when you add a new task?

I think at the very least up near the Complete and Postpone buttons and More Actions select box there should be some reference to how many items are selected.
Like "Complete (3)" for example.
