Adding a new Task with additional data

psionmark says:
I've been using RTM for quite a while and think it's a terrific piece of work.

But (there's always one, eh?), and I'm sure I'm missing something here, is there no way I can add a new Task along the lines of "New task, today, personal list", i.e. create a new Task called "New task", with a due date of Today in my personal list all in one go, rather than adding it, then editing it to add a date, then editing it again to change the list?

I can easily add a new task with all this info using the NetVibes plugin, but I prefer to only see Today's tasks. I can also add a Task this way via email. But there seems to be no way to do this via the actual RTM site.

So, what have I missed, folks?!

Cheers,

Mark

I have one suggestion that might help you - you can email in tasks with various attributes defined. This sets all the options in one go, and if you save an email template, it's pretty quick.

I should note that your suggestion has come up repeatedly in the last 23 months, starting here (http://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/ideas/211/) and appearing numerous times. I think it's a great idea.

Hi ranbarton,

Thanks for the reply. I do use my email to add tasks quite often. It just seems a shame that, given that RTM is almost perfect in every way, it actually seems quite cumbersome to do the most basic thing, i.e. add a task with all the data I need from the RTM site itself!

Cheers,

Mark
