GMail add-on generically broken

Starting today, the GMail add-on has started reporting a generic fault message ("something went wrong"). We have it installed domain-wide and I've confirmed broken behaviour on two different accounts. Chromebook (ChromeOS) as well as fully updated Chrome on MacOS.
