macOS bug: add task keyboard shortcut not working

I’m having a lot of trouble getting the "Add task..." keyboard shortcut to work. It seems to work only when I manually open the menu—and not in the app or other apps either, making it quite unpractical.
Possible to look into this? Quickly adding a task is quite essential!
