You should be able to press Add at the bottom of the Contact Preferences to add desktop reminders. We have these steps on our website if they help.

thank you - I found the specific setting and enabled it.
Unfortunately still does not work - perhaps a overall security setting from Windows - unfortunately I do not have admin privs.
Is there a way to check this?

It may be necessary to check your notifications overall, for example by testing them in your browser or checking other apps. Depending on your version of Windows you have different options for your notifications; for example, Windows 7 notifications cannot be customized to stay on screen, may disappear too quickly, etc.
