Multiple notes in a task start out most recent at the top. New notes go in at the top of the list and push all the older notes down one. But every once in a while the sort order of notes changes.

For example I just duplicated a task with 100 notes or so, all sorted newest to oldest. The duplicated note has the notes in what looks like a random order. Not sorted by date of creation or date of last edit.

What controls this order and is there any control I can have over it.

This is in the web app on Windows 10 using Firefox, if that matters.
