Update: I removed and re-added all the IM clients to the reminders settings page. Both AIM and Yahoo work as they should, sending the before task due and task due now reminders. Both appear online.

ICQ and MSN: no reminders. Both appear offline.

Anyone else having trouble with ICQ and/or MSN reminders? Anyone have any idea what the cause(s) might be?

schwingle, thanks for letting us know. Are you still experiencing problems with IM reminders? The RTM buddy/contact may sometimes appear offline on some of the networks, but should still send the reminders. If you have trouble receiving any of them, please let us know. If you can contact us and let us know the following information:

1) Where you expected to receive a reminder (IM network & screenname)
2) A task that you expected to receive a reminder for
3) When you expected to receive the reminder

We can investigate this further and check that the reminder was sent out on our end. Thanks!

I've been having the same problem for several weeks now, with AIM. The rtmremind buddy appears to be offline most of the time and I get no reminders.

Every once in awhile it works -- the buddy shows up as being online -- and I get a reminder. I've tried re-entering my settings and reentering rtmremind to my Buddy list, but it doesn't help.

Would really like this feature to work!

same problem here: I have configured IM reminders for AIM. The reminders worked fine all morning until about 11:00 AM (Germany, timezone GMT+1:00). Then the rtmremind buddy signed off and I have not received any IM reminders since then.

If you still need information to track this down, just let me know...

Just started trying this out yesterday. Have set up reminders for AIM, Yahoo, and GoogleTalk. Have received none.

For anyone experiencing issues with AIM reminders, unfortunately the AIM network hasn't been very reliable recently -- we're doing our best to get the reminders out onto that network, and we're also looking into ways to work around the network problems. We hope to have this resolved soon -- sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime.

For anyone experiencing issues with reminders on other IM networks -- there should be no delivery problems with networks apart from AIM at this time. If you're using another network and not receiving reminders, please contact us with the following information:

1) Where you expected to receive a reminder (IM network & screenname)

if anyone has had success with MSN reminders, please share your tips and tricks. i use trillian, and was told i might need to add the RTM buddy using the official client. i did, but it didn't help. the MSN buddy is never online, and i never get any reminders. i have tried not being invisible, or explicitly being available, but that has had no effect. i'm rather stumped.

that said, i re-added the ICQ buddy, and now that's working. no clue why it didn't the other 3 times. the reminder i got did say that RTM is using an old ICQ client which can lead to messaging problems. i told emily already, and hopefully it will lead to an upgraded ICQ client for RTM. that should help, too.

Yahoo and AIM mostly work. When they want to. ;) Both networks have had some trials of late, but they are typically reliable, and I suspect it won't be long until they stabilize.
