Can't Publish list to Contact
dcefrance says:
There's already a thread for this but I can't add a message to that thread. Apparently threads become permanently closed after a period of inactivity.
I have been trying to publish a list to my wife's account for several days now. I have also filled-in the Contact Us forms to report the problem. There apparently is no other way to contact RememberTheMilk. An e-mail address would be nice as I could send an e-mail with a full description and attached screenshots.
On my side: I go to my list "Family" and I click on the Publish tab. I can see it's already published to my contact with my wife's account name underneath. I've even tried unpublishing it, logging out and republishing it. Several times. It always looks published on my end.
On her side: I log in to her account (on my computer, on her computer, on her office computer, on my Mac, on our living room computer... all the same results) either with "Remember me" ticked or not ticked. I then try to click on the link to my published list (/home/dcefrance/1469330/) and always get the same message:
"No lists found"
Sorry this user has no published lists.....
I don't know what to do next.

Just to add a quick comment: I am absolutely loving this service!
I've only been using it for a week or so at the moment. But I can't remember what it was like without it. I have used Outlook's To-Do lists for many years and synchronised them wtih my Palm and then my Blackberry.
Probably THE most useful function is the e-mail to list. It's just amazingly simple and practical. It's also wonderfully powerful with the ability to set the lists, priorities, due dates, and everything right in the e-mail.
A side note... maybe some day be able to complete a task by e-mail as well? But that's irrelevant here.
At the same time as I am declaring a problem I just wanted to also say how much I enjoy the site itself.
Oh... and of course... you can't beat the price!
;-)

dcefrance, I've followed this up with you via email. (We do have an email address, but encourage people to submit through the contact form as its helps to categorise problems and enables us to handle support requests faster -- we're always happy to have people email us with screenshots etc though :)
Glad you're enjoying RTM! :)

I appear to be experiencing exactly the same issue. Could you please advise me of the solution you presumably found for the previous writer?
Like the previous writer, I must confess that I'm a big fan of RTM.
I have published all of my lists, only to my wife. When my wife is logged in and tries to access my lists, she gets the "No lists found" message.
We get the same results on both of our computers. One is running Windows XP Home, the other Windows XP Professional. We have reproduced this issue with the latest versions of both Firefox and Internet Explorer. We both use Google Gears (just in case that makes any difference), but of course we conducted our tests while operating "online," fully connected to the Internet.
Please advise.

natriley, would it be possible to contact us and let us know your wife's username as well as the name of one of the affected lists?
We discovered a problem on our end for the previous poster's issue, but it should be fixed now. We can check into this and see if the same problem is occurring with your account, or if this is a new problem. Thanks!

Emily, I have sent you the requested information through your Contact Us page. Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks, we'll check this out.

Emily - I hope this is not a problem that you are fixing on an individual basis as myself, and several friends of mine have the same problem. This prevent use of RTM as a project tool, which is tragic.
emily (Remember The Milk) says:
Sorry my previous post wasn't too clear -- we fixed the original issue that dcefrance reported (it was automatically fixed for anyone else experiencing it).
The problem that natriley is experiencing is a different issue (although it results in the same problem: a user not being able to view another user's published list). We're looking into this one now.
If you're experiencing a similar problem, please contact us with your username, your contact's username, and the list being published. Please also included the published URL that your contact is accessing. Thanks!

This issue now appears to be fixed for me. Many thanks, Emily, for investigating it and following up with me via email. Whatever you did seems to have worked.
